Legal Question in Discrimination Law in Pennsylvania

Terminated I believe due to age

Employer brought in younger nurse and within one week I was terminated because "Failure to follow standard practice guideline" I help setup practice 21 years ago, wrote the practice policy manual. Employer has told State Investigator that I did not Sterlize Equipment ( which is not true) I have been refused a copy of may personnel file. When filing for umemployment employer did not protest, except to say I broke an unwritten rule. Should I involve legal personnel in the investigator's finding hearing?

Re: Terminated I believe due to age

Your question implies that you have filed a charge of discrimination with the Pa. Human Relations Commission. You do not absolutely need a lawyer to pursue such a charge. However, your own lawyer will almost certainly be more aggressive in pursuing your claim. Also you will need a lawyer if the commission does not resolve your claim in order to pursue your rights in court. You should be able to retain a lawyer on a contingency fee basis at no cost to you.
