driving under a dui

I was driving under a dui to work next thing I new I was in a car accident with another person we really don't know what happened but I just recieved a $583.00 ticket in the mail and the lady on the phone told me to tell my son that he has to plead not guilty and send in the money to get a court date which I don't under stand if you pled guilty you are guilty of something or he can get up to 90days in jail thats why he needs an attorney

You must respond to the ticket within a sytated period of time. You should plead not guilty in order to get a hearing and immediately contact an attorney.
