Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

child custody

I have given my lawyer ten thousand dollar for child custody, that was in 2005, i have had one mediation and one court order for phone contact, is my lawyer taken advantage of me, or does it really take this long for a hearing?

Re: child custody

First question is what does your lawyer say? The next is it depends on the county the case is in?

Next the person who needs to address you concerns is your lawyer. He works for you.

Re: child custody

It is difficult to say. With contested child custody cases there are costs that go to people other than your lawyer. Expert witnesses such as psychologists are sometimes necessary, Mediators charge fees, sometimes the Court appoints a Lawyer to represent the child, etc. Also your lawyer may have escrowed that money as a retainer and may be billing against it.
