Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

Custody rights for father if never married to mother

I am not married, but my girlfriend and I have a 1 year old daughter. If we were to separate, what custody rights would I be entitled to?

Custody rights for father

First you must establish paternity if not already done so. Once paternity has been established you have the same rights to custody/visitation as any other "legal" father.

If the court determines that it is in the child's best interest to be placed in your custody thaen the court will so order. If the court orders that the mother is the proper parent to have physical custody of the child you would be entitled to visitation/parenting time. You would also be required to pay child support for your child.
