Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

My stepchild is a legal immigrant from England. His birth-father is not on his birth certificate and has never had anything to do with him. It is unknown where the birth father even is. I want to adopt him but am unsure how to do it and how hard it will be. What are the steps to get this done?

Not knowing where the child's father is will complicate things. As well as slow things down. I'll give you the bad new now. You're going to need an attorney. You'll also be publishing notice in what ever city the child's father may be. Which may not be the easiest thing you've done. Leave it up to the lawyer.

On the bright side. Adoptions are the only legal proceding where you can bring in Cameras to the York County Courthouse.
