Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Pennsylvania

I won a judgement against someone in district court, now the attorney for the defendent is holding the check until I sign a document that I will never sue this person again, can he withhold the check and is there anything else I can do to receive the money?

Re: judgment

If you have won a judgment, then it is the defendant's duty to pay. You do not have to sign a release or give up any other rights. You are required to sign a satisfaction of judgment, so the defendant can prove that he paid. Other than that, I can't think of anything else.

I'd suggest telling the lawyer that if (s)he doesn't pay up, you're going to the sheriff to begin collection proceedings.

If you need any other advice, please feel free to email or call. Good luck.
