if someone posts on a local town discussion board that i threaten bodily harm to them, and they have written proof. do i have any way of making them disclose this proof and clear my name? this post was seen by approx. 1,400 people in a town of 1,500

The first question is, did you actually threaten the person with bodily harm?

If you didn't, then you can sue them for the false statement.
