Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Pennsylvania

Personal Loans

If money is lent to ''a friend'' with no documentation other than several emails...then they default and dont pay back. Is there any chance of recovering the money or is it the price you pay for being stupid?

Would it cost more to get it back than worth?

Re: Personal Loans

Depends on what the emails say. They COULD form a contract. However, I guess you've learned never to lend money without an agreement.

In terms of your hope of getting it back....does the person have anything? If they have no assets, your hope of getting it back is small. However, you may want to get a judgment anyway in the hopes that someday they will win the lottery, buy a house, etc.
