Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Pennsylvania

Reimbursement

If I took out a loan for someone, could I sue them for reimbursement to me? If I had tape recorded proof of a verbal contract?

Re: Reimbursement

Of course you can sue, the question is can you win. I think you posted this a different way before asking if the other person would be liable on the loan contract and the answer to that would be no, unless the lender agreed that the other person would be liable. However, you would have a suit against the person you took out the loan for and you would most likely win that one, either in contract or in quasi-contract.

Re: Reimbursement

Yes you can sue on a verbal contract in PA for most things, however some recording of conversations in PA is against the law.

Be careful.

Re: Reimbursement

Sure you can sue on a verbal contract (based upon these facts). The question is the admissibility and legality of the taped conversation. Evidentiarily, you will need their consent to use it. There are some ways that you might obtain it even now. Contact our offices if you have any further questions.
