Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Pennsylvania

I was selling my gokart to a friend, I let him take it before he paid me. its been three days, we contacted local police and they said his story is different from mine. do i have a chance if I take this to a magistrates office. There is only a text on my phone to say the amount he intended to pay.

Andrew Solomon Law Office of Andrew A. Solomon

Of course you stand a chance before a magistrate (district justice). Go there Monday and file a civil complaint against this guy for the value of the gokart or its return. SAVE THE TEXT ON YOUR PHONE. This is clearly a case of theft, and I'm sure you can prove that it belonged to you, through friends and family, and that you did not just give it to him as a gift.
