Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Pennsylvania

Hello, I live in franklin county, PA. I just started renting an apartment for 165 a week. And the neighbors have been having many problems with the landlord just throwing people out. I wanted yo know what rights I have and if I were in a situation what I could do. There is no lease, but I do keep reciepts written out by the landlord. The neighbors have also said that the landlord will "overprice" the electric bill, what could I do If I felt I was being overpriced. and what if she tries to get 175 for rent insted of the 165, that's just another complaint I have heard. Thank you.

So you're paying someone over $714 a month without a lease. So the landlord can't spring for the lease you can download off the internet? Did he give you a lead base paint disclosure form?

The failure to give lead based paint disclosure is a big Federal deal.

The fact you have no written lease tells me you are going to be shafted.

PS: Might be a good idea to call me so I can explain this to you in detail. Other than toll charges the call will be free.
