Legal Question in Personal Injury in Pennsylvania

expenses and percentage

Hi, I had an auto accident and I was the victim, the judge already said that it was my fault 15%, will the expenses be deducted from the case after the lawyer takes the percentage or before? also what's the percentage in PA law the lawyer is allowed to take, I mean minimum and maximum? I need an answer so quickly if possible with my deep thanks in advance for taking care of my question.

Re: expenses and percentage

Whether the expenses get taken out "off of the top", before the atty gets his share (a fee on the gross amount), or from your share, after the lawyer takes his split (a fee on the net amount) will be regulated by your fee agreement with the lawyer, as will the percentage the lawyer takes. There is no minimum or maximum that is written in the law. In a car accident case, the fees will usually be between 33 1/3% and 40%, but they could be higher or lower.
