Re: Adding Name to Deed

It is a simple process. There is no transfer tax. A deed can be prepared very simply at a minimum cost. However, you might want to check with the existing mortgage company to see if they object. Under most mortgages a transfer gives the mortgage company the right to call the loan if done without their permission. The cost to prepare the deed should be no more than $125. A copy of the original deed with the filing information is required. I would be happy to handle this matter for you. There are filing cost that will be incurred as an additional cost.
