Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Pennsylvania

Is there any consequence if the property dimensions on a deed are different than the dimensions on a plot plan? ie the plot plan includes an extra 15' in the width of a property compared to the deed. I'm assuming the deed takes precedence.

The deed has the legal description that of what is being transferred. There maybe some reason for the difference. You would have to look through the past deeds to see when the 15 foot strip was lost. It could be a drafting error from long ago. Or maybe some previous owner sold it off. The deeds are on line in Dauphin County.
