Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Pennsylvania

New Construction price drop after contract signing

We signed on to build a new home app 2mons ago. We recently found out that the base prices of the homes (including our model) were dropped. Do I have any legal recourse to force them to give me that lowered price?

Re: New Construction price drop after contract signing

Standard lawyer response, it depends.

Your contract is binding, so that must be read thoroughly to see if there is an out. But because the builders want happy customers and you still haven't performed fully you have some leverage.

An attorney can be of great assistance here. You may be able to get the builder to give you a rebate (OK, maybe not), or maybe meet you halfway. A better option would be talking to the builder and getting credits for those options and changes that you are sure to add in, maybe upgrade your tub, plumbing or light fixtures. How about adding on a deck?

You need to find a win-win solution. If you go in expecting to be handed what you want you will be disapponted.
