Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Pennsylvania

how to get name on mortgage

I have been married for almost three years. We recently purchased a house in September. My credit was not very good so the mortgage was done using my spouse's credit. We are now having marital trouble & I am wondering how to get my name on the mortgage/if I am entitled to anything or if we divorce will he get the house? Thank you!

The loan and the deed are two seperate issues. Unless the prorperty was purchased solely by funds your spouse brought into the marriage, you have some marital estate right in the property. I offer free consultations.

Re: how to get name on mortgage

You need to be careful, the Deed and the Mortgage are two seperate entities. You do not want to be on the Mortgage, but you do want to be on the deed. If your husband purchased the property solely on his own, without any proceeds from yourself you may run into some problems.
