Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Pennsylvania

I have been doing real estate title for 17 years and was always taught that obtaining spouses signature in any transaction whether they're on title or not perfects title as it secures their marital interest they may have in a subject property. Two days ago I was told it clouds title? Is that correct?
