A person files a petition to become executor of an estate. Is there a way to contest that.

The only person[s] who may become executor[s] of an estate are those named in the Will of the deceased person.

There are some bases to object to a named executor. It requires evaluation and assistance of an experienced estates lawyer to determine if there grounds for such an objection.
