Unfortunately there is no real way of verifying if your father had a will if you don't know if he had one. If you know of any attorneys that your father might have known, you might want to call and see if they prepared a will for your father.

If you have any uncles or aunts, or if your father had any good friends, you can call them and ask them if they knew if your father had a will. Though it's unlikely, you can check if there are any documents filed under your father's name at the local registry of deeds for the town he lived in at the time he died.

Anyone who knew your father well might know if he had a will prepared or not. This will be somewhat of a hunting expedition for you.

I wish you the best of luck in trying to find a will. Please accept my condolences on the passing of your father.
