Legal Question in Criminal Law in South Carolina

Bail promisory note

I bailed my daughter out of jail , she was held for speeding , simple possesion and open container , I bailed her out using a bondsman and signed a promisory note to assure her appearance , I also had her get a cashiers check for her fines and she sent it to the bondsman instead of the court , do I still have to make sure she appears ?

Re: Bail promisory note

You need to immediately contact your bondsman and straighten this out. The fine goes to the court, not the bondsman. Until you figure out if you have done everything properly and it doesn't sound like it, then yes, she needs to appear in court.
