Re: sc child removal in divorce

A parent can try to remove the child from a state and will probably be able to do so, unless the other parent takes steps to stop him/her. Typically, the best course of action to prevent a parent from doing so is to file an action in the Family Court seeking to have the child remain in SC.

Multi-state child custody cases are very complex, and it is important that they be handled correctly. Therefore, it is important that you consult an experienced family law attorney to find out what options are available to you based on the facts of your particular case.
