If my step son is living with his grandparents, how does my husband go about making his mother split paying the child support?

He would have to file an action for a modification of the previous child support order. Without knowing the specific facts of his case, I can only say that generally a child support order will only be modified on a showing of a substantial change of circumstances. Why is the child living with his grandparents? Has mother abandoned the child? Unless the court changes the previous order, however, father must continue to pay child support as ordered or risk being held in contempt by the court.
