Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina

uncotested custody

I am a widower and father of a 16 yr old male who decided a year ago to move to SC from NY to live with his half sister and her husband.

What was maybe temporary is now permanent. He wants to stay there which is fine with me. How can I transfer permanent custody and financial responsibility to my step daughter?

Re: uncotested custody

You will need to retain a South Carolina attorney, who will file the appropriate documents with the court, get a hearing, have the arrangement approved by a judge, and secure a court order.
