Legal Question in Immigration Law in South Carolina

Hello. My name is Adeca Cox. My dad is a permenant resident of the U.S.A. he filed for me and my siter to become legal here. My dad is somewhat covert so he really doesn't update me and my sister about our documents. He received an approval notice last year without telling us a word. The approval notice states, "the above petition has been approved. The petition indicates thay the person whom you are petitioning is in the U.S and will apply for adjustment of status. He or she should contact USCIS for the application. " does this mean I can go ahead and file for my adjustment status? Also, I contacted my college a few weeks back to obtain some information to transfer. They told me I am listed as a permenant resident paying In state tuition. I wasn't aware of this status. The school doesn't have a copy of my greencard. How can I obtain this information? They said I had a green card for at lease one year in north Carolina.

Hello:

Having the I-130 approved and being able to apply for adjustment are two completely different items. I would need to know how old you are, what country you are from and when the petition was filed.
