Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in South Carolina

meningitis caused by medical treatment

Got injection for back pain. Had a bad headache. They said give it a few days, Take 800mg of Ibuprofen. The pain worsened, I called. Migraine medicine. No affect. I called back. They call in another medicine. Tried it. My headache kept getting worst. I left a message on his voice mail, I said I didn't know what else to do, and I was going to the ER. He called and said, he was sure it wasnt a spine headache, because he does not go in to the spinal fluid. He said it couldnt be caused by my shots, since I got them over a week ago and there was no reason to go to the ER. That night, I had to go to the ER. They sent me home. From what Ive been told, they took me to the hospital, ER during the night Saturday. They said it was a Migraine; more medicine, and released me. Sunday morning my son called 911. I was in the hospital for 17 days. I all most died. I had chemical meningitis. I dont remember much of the next 7 weeks. My memory is improving. I am still having trouble with pain, balance and loss of feeling in my left side. I'm home recovering now, but I don't know when doc will release me to go back to work, but I do know it won't be in time to save my job. What can I do?

Re: meningitis caused by medical treatment

You may have a very good medical malpractice case against the MD who treated you and the MD who misdiagnosed you. Feel free to give my office a call when you have the chance.
