Legal Question in Personal Injury in South Carolina

head on collison with drunk driver

I was hit by a drunk driver Saturday and I was wondering what compensation I should be willing to settle with.

I was waiting for a car to go by and then the driver drove directly into my van....no broken bones....but very sore.

The officer gave me an FR10 form that showed he was responsible, and they took him to jail.

Any help is appreciated. (I have not settled or even received an offer yet)

Everyone's case is different, as every person has different injuries and different facts of the accident itself. Most insurance companies will pay a premium in cases where their insured driver was drunk.

At this point, the best things you can do to help yourself are (1) make sure that you get evaluated by a physician to see if any treatment is necessary or to help you recover quicker and (2) hire an experienced attorney to deal with the insurance company on your behalf.

Compensation depends on how much medical bills are, possibility of future medical bills, extent of injuries, if any injuries are permanent, if there is any scarring, and surgeries, lost wages, etc. It all depends and each case is different.
