May my computer be searched for illegal software

Our computers on campus are gonna be searched for illegal software this weekend and i want to know where i stand. Can they come into my room and search my PC without a warrant or how does this work?

If it is a dormroom, you may have consented to search via admission contract or other college generated document. I would need to review prior to advising.

Obviously if you have illegal software and you have a basis for asserting privacy, you must do so, but you may generate additional scrutiny.

Call or e-mail for further assistance.
