Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Tennessee

Chapter 13 confusion

I've concerned about two things in regards to Chapter 13. 1) If I change jobs, does the new wage order just get sent over using the last reported salary, or, does the trustee's office verify my wages at the new job? This is both for changing jobs locally or if I move to a new state.

Re: Chapter 13 confusion

You need to speak to your attorney regarding your question about changing jobs. When you hired your attorney, you hired them to be your attorney for the duration of your bankruptcy plan, so do not hesitate to contact them with any questions regarding your plan. The Trustee's office does not normally verify income, but if they believe that you are not being truthful they have the right to verify your income with your employer. Normally your plan payments would stay the same if you change jobs. However, there are many factors involved in a bankruptcy plan which could make your plan payments change, so there is no way anyone who is not familiar with your case could completely answer your question.
