Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Tennessee

Can pre marital debt be included in a filing

I married last year and in this period of time I went from having about 7-8K in debt to close to 30K with all late fees, interest etc. What I want to really know is. Can previous premarital debt incurred by my spouse be included when we file for ch. 7

Response: I don't practice law in your state, but the question is so easy I can't resist. In a joint bankruptcy, you both can file on all your debts including those which predate your marriage. In other words, yes.
