Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Tennessee

what can happen if your miranda rights are not read to you and it goes to court?

I am a minor, and got arrested a few weeks back, but the cops didn't read me my rights and they quetioned me without my parents being there. They read me my rights as I was being released, after I was booked into juvinile detention. My case has already gone to court and the judge said that the miranda rights didn't mean a thing in court. Can I fight this and get the charges dropped or put some charges on them instead?

Yes, you were certainly entitled to Miranda rights if you were in the custody of the police and not free to leave. Assuming they arrested you, then you were in their custody. The judge's statement, if you quoted him correctly, is outrageous. That is certainly not the accurate statement of the law. I love these constitutional cases.
