Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Tennessee

Co-Signer Education Loan

When I checked my credit report I found out I was a co-signer to one of my 38 year old daughters education loans. When she was in her thirties, she decided to go back to school in Tennessee. I live in Florida. I called the company and they didnt even have my correct address. I never received anything from this company or signed any paper work agreeing to be a co-signer. I want my name removed from this loan and my credit report. My daughter should be the only one responsible for this debt. What recourse do I have?

Re: Co-Signer Education Loan

If you didn't sign a contract to be liable for her loan, she forged your signature (or had someone else do it). You need to report this as fraud to the creditor, and you will need to assist them in their investigation.
