Legal Question in Criminal Law in Tennessee

Help for Mental Illness for an incarerated person

My son had been sentenced 1 yr in a county jail for vandalism, felony B&D, He is dianogised with schizophrenic, bi-polar, ADD. He is currently on medication from the mental heath center. He is 19, his problem began around 6 yrs old . He is interested at the end or at the prsent time voluntarily committing himself to a mental institution. Could you give me TCA code statutes to accompany this, to modify his sentence. How will this affect probation, community service and restitution. He is declared mentally imparied and can not function in the work force.

thank you
