Sex offender Registry

I need to find out if I have a case on this or not in the year 2000 I was convicted

of Sexual Battery I received a 2 year state probation sentence I have served my

time and no longer on probation but here is my problem all this time I thought I

was classified as a sex offender and I have been reporting to the sheriffs dept

once a year since 2006 I just received a letter in� the mail from the Sumner

county sheriffs dept stating that there was an error and now I have been

classified as a violent sex offender requiring I must report to them in march,June,

September,and December each year for the rest of my life that just devastated me

and wondering if I can do anything about it pleases respond back ASAP

I was convicted in Nashville Tn the judge was Randall Wyatt

The victim was 9 years old at the time,my sentence was 2 years

not 3 to 6

What you are required to do, what your options and remedies are, all will depend on the sentence you got in the case. Contact the attorney who represented you in the case and get a copy of the sentencing paperwork and any plea agreement if one was entered into, and go from there.
