Legal Question in Entertainment Law in Tennessee

Contract or Not?

A music contract was signed between an artist and a record company. The attorney generals office shows the record company had not reinstated itself before signing of the contract. However, the record company may hold a bussiness liscense. If so, does the contract entered into apply or does it not exist? Can the bussiness liscense alone hold enough weight to keep the agreement binding?

II believe, based upon what you have said, that the contract is still valid as the corporation may still correct any filing with the secretary of state. This alone will not void the contract.
