Legal Question in Family Law in Tennessee

Cessation of Child support

My oldst child is 19,graduates this May.What do we need in order for my child support to stop?I assume her birth certificate, mabye proof she is no longer in school?Should I go ahead and start proceedings now,so that by May it will be ready?Do I have to actually go to court ,or does the attorney just petition the court?

Thank You.

Re: Cessation of Child support

You will need a court order ending the child support, and yes if the custodia parent does not agree to termination and will not sign an agreed order then you need to file a Petition now to get it ended. You might not need to go to court along with your attorney for it.... but more than likely you will.
