Legal Question in Family Law in Tennessee

child support

My son had an accident when he was 15.I was paying support then.He recieved a settlement from insurance comp.Because he is now disabled.I,ve payed this support up till he was 19 and still paying support. And he is 25 now.He lives with his mother.He draws disability and monthly payment from settlement.Why do i have to pay child support for the rest of my life or his.Even though it was not an issue in the divorce.

Who said you had to pay child support for the rest of his life??? That is never true. Support for a disabled child can go up to age 21; but it stops there. You have no obligation to pay support beyond 21. You need to see alawyer and get this obligation stopped.
