child visitation rights

I am divorced, mother of two, 12 years and 9 years old. The children live with their dad in oak ridge, tn and I currently live in nashville, tn. The father is not insisiting on the children visiting with me when I come into town monthly to see them. He is also the payee for their SSDI. I have had alcohol/drug relsted issues but am in a Recovery Home in Nashville, tn and have been sober/clean for 6 months.

I would like to set up visitation with my children although the father will not support me or insist upon it.

What are my rights and how do I go about setting up these visits?

You need the court to order visitation. Retain an attorney and take your ex-husband to court. This is the only way to get your current situation altered. If you cannot afford an attorney, contact Legal Aid and see if you can get an attorney on a payment plan or perhaps at no cost.
