separation and divorce

is there a common law separation or legal separation in tennesee? and also can the wife file for a divorce and make the husband pay for it in tennesee?

Tennessee does not have a "common law" separation. It does, however, have a statute that provides for a statutory "legal separation". And . . . yes, your spouse can ask the court for you to pay her attorney's fees so it is best to hire a lawyer to review any documents you receive from her, her attorney, or a process server.
