independent musician copyright law

if i have a tangible product of my own music that i made from start to finish my-self and i want to walk down the street selling cd's for $10.00, do i have to get a copyright and am i breaking any laws as long as i am paying taxes on my sales?

The short answer is no, unless you have derived music from another composer. The cost of a copyright on your music is exceedingly low, therefore I suggest that you file on each piece of music.
