Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Tennessee

Medical Dishonesty

I had a relapse from a chronic illness. My pain dr stated work was the cause. She wanted me to resign from second job & to go p/t 15 hrs/wk at first job.I called my job the next day & informed them they stated they weren't sure if I could.I called the dr spoke to her asst she said she would see what the dr says &call me back. She called later that day, I told her I spoke to HR again & they would comply & to let the Dr know. This info was to be dictated & a letter sent to me to provide my job.The estimated date to return I hadn't rec'd the letter. The asst never told the dr but wouldn't admit to it so she kept giving me the run around about why I never rec'd the letter so the Dr ended up sending a letter releasing me to work full time no restrictions. The dr stated she didn't remember saying for me to work pt & didn't see it in my chart. So i've returned to work full duty no restrictions while in severe pain & on pain meds which is really hard & affecting my job when I can't sit there all day due to pain & have to leave.I haven't even had my follow up appt for her to start my new regimen to attempt to get my pain under control.I think something was removed from my chart to cover the asst's mistake. Is there anything to do?

Re: Medical Dishonesty

Do you have any concrete reason to think that your chart was altered? I think you should go back to your doctor for your follow-up and get reassessed. She is going from memory and phone calls and that's not reliable. Get to the doctor again as soon as possible. Seek a second opinion if you feel it is warranted.
