Deceased husband left property to children

my Mother in law was married 20 years and children would not allow her to attend the probate of the will they just told her it stated she could live in said property until she dies. is this correct

Everything depends on the will. As an heir she has an absolute right to see the will. Even if the will left her a life estate in the property she needs to talk to an attorney to determine if she would be better off filing for a year's support.

Without seeing the will and knowing how the property was owned I can not give a definite answer. You need to have an attorney knowledgable in wills and probate review the situtation.
