Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Tennessee

Executor Fees

As executor to a will, can a person in the state of TN charge a fee for their administration of said will, even if an attorney was brought in to handle ensuing lawsuits from grandchildren due to the fact that their mother, one of the children of the deceased, was also deceased. The attorney handled the court proceedings, but as executor can a fee still be charged to the estate, and if so, how much?

Re: Executor Fees

An executor is entitled to a reasonable fee based upon the amount of time he (or she) must spend in carrying out the terms of the will. The judge will make the final decision as to how much compensation the executor should have.
