Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Tennessee

Executor's deed

Hi. I'm the executor of my father's Will. He had oil royalties he inherited from his father in many states out west, but lived in TN at the time of his death. He wanted everything split 50-50 between me and my brother. I know I can write a deed to my brother for 1/2 interest in these items, but can I, as executrix, write a deed for the other 1/2 to myself as beneficiary and will that be legal?

Re: Executor's deed

Ethics rules prohibit me from engaging in legal conservation with you because you are represented by an attorney as Executor of your father's estate. Consult your attorney regarding questions related to your father's estate.
