Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Tennessee

Probate of Estate

I have volunteered to be the Adminstrator of my Uncle's Estate, but have not yet been appointed.

No other family member has stepped up to handle this matter. Because I have had access to my Uncle's mail, I have seen a lot of details concerning his financial matters. One of the Heirs is demanding that I send him copies of my Uncle's 1099INT's, stating that he has as much wright as I to have them. I say no because I am representing all of the heirs and because some of the 1099's are not part of the Estate they were Pay On Death CD's. Now the heir says he will have me brought up on charges because I have this information.

Re: Probate of Estate

Tell him you have no authority to share anything with him at this time. You have no authority until you are appointed administrator. It appears that you are going to have trouble with this heir. I would advise you to discuss this with an experienced probate attorney so you don't make any mistakes.
