Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Texas

I have a 2nd on a property I sold and the new owner filed bankruptcy. Everything was paid back a year ago and the person that bought my house has not made his 2nd loan payment to me in over a year. After the bankruptcy has been dismissed what legal steps do I take to get this person to start paying me on the 2nd lein that he owes me? The compay I hired to take care of the paperwork said that they can't contact the person because of the bankruptcy and that I needed to see an attorney.

You need to see an attorney. That attorney needs to review the bankruptcy case.

If the court dismissed the case, then it is as though the bankruptcy was not filed.

However if the case is on going, you need to get the court's permission before trying to collect your debt. If your debt was discharged and your try to collect it, you could be violating federal law if you try to recover it.

Consult a bankruptcy attorney.
