Leasing a car

On March 7, 2007, my wife and I went to a Nissan dealership and purchased, well, leased 2 vehicles, a 2007 Altima & a 2007 Xterra truck.

I called the dealership on March 28th because the tags expire on this day. I was checking to see if the original tags had come in, since no one had called to notify us. They transferred me to the person who did our paperwork. Well, he told me that we would need to bring both cars back because they couldn't get any financing for us. I was shocked. My wife and I have been driving these new cars for 3 weeks now, and no one bothered to call us to tell us about the problems they were having with getting us financed. We have basically wasted $1000 getting a alarm system on the truck and getting insurance on both of the cars. My question is, are they liable to give us that money back that we put into the car? They waited 3 weeks, while we are driving the $42,000 worth of cars and no one called us, we called them. We also put $3500 down and traded in another car, which, as of now, we're past due on, and late fee's have been added. Of course, they're giving us the $3500 and our car back. We just want to be compensated for the embarrassment and money that we've spent on both cars. I appreciate any advice
