Legal Question in Business Law in Texas

Sexual Discrimination

I was hired on in March. About 1 week into my training, I was sexually harrassed by an hourly employee. There was physical contact. The employee was terminated, however I was reprimanded as well by my GM who told me that '' since I was cursing with the employees, they felt that it was okay to harass me''. In my defense, I told him that all of the kitchen managers cursed (like myself, in a joking manner) with the hourly employees, and that none of them were getting kissed!! 2 weeks later my regional manager told me that I needed to hold myself to a different standard since ''I was a woman''. About another week went by, and I was late one morning for work. My general manager wrote me up for the harassment incident (3 weeks later)citing unprofessional behavior. Then the same day, changed his mind, and wrote me up for being late after all. Two months later I was terminated for not having comp slips signed, even though I was told by the AGM to do it that way. There are many more details to this story. But my bottom line is why was I treated differently because I was a woman? And is this legal?? I didn't do anything differently than any of the other managers there (men) but they still have their jobs!Do I have a case?

Call the EEOC in the federal pages of your phone book. As far as unempolyment compensation, you need to file your claim.
