A company has asked us to teach all there employees they say have 4000 people, the rate we quoted at the begining was $12.00 per person as opposed to the $20-$25 we normally charge per person. They have now asked us to go for a flat rate.
My Question is what is a flat rate? If we go on the assumption that there will be 15 per class it would be 180.00 irregardless of how many are in the class the fee will always be $180.00 Is this how a flat rate works?

That would be one type of flat rate. Of course your fixed fee per person per class is also a flat rate.

If you are going to give a flat rate, you had best be specific about what that rate will cover; i.e. no more than 15 persons per class.
