Legal Question in Technology Law in Texas

License Agreement and Ownership

I am currently developing a website. This is along the lines of my current employer's business. I had the current employer sign a license agreement stating that I (a new company I started) owns the code and the current employer gets to use it. Does this protect me from the current employer claimin ownership of the code because he was paying me a salary while it was being developed? I have no inventions agreement or non-compete agreement with the current employer.
