Legal Question in Construction Law in Texas
Engineer liability for construction of retaining wall
My understanding is in Texas when a certified engineer provides drawings for construction of retaining wall (with their stamp) he or she becomes liability for the performance of the wall and in this case 7 years after the wall was built it has failed. I have been told by certified construction contractor that the engineer is liable? I would like confirmation if i should pursue legal recourse against the engineering firm?

They may be liable if the design was insufficient. Or the party that installed the wall may be liable if they didn't follow the engineer's drawings. You've a bit more research to do.
